Bonzo
by Lauren Streeter
'Bonzo' is a series of nineteen black-and-white photographs presented in a original 1960s photo album that have the same dog running throughout the piece. All the photographs in this series are found photographs that I scanned and cropped intentionally so that the dog is always on the right-hand side of the photographs, as the series is about the life of Bonzo, from when he was a puppy to old age.
These found images were taken by my great great aunt Ivy and uncle Arthur, who owned a guesthouse in Clacton-on-Sea, where they took photographs of their guests staying there every week, and then they would send the photograph to the guests as a memento of their stay.
